HOW TO PLAY

One song can change the standings.

Track Battle turns music recommendations between friends into a game of leagues, rounds, creative rules and points. This guide takes you through the experience using real screenshots of the English interface. Player-created league names and song titles keep their original language. Quiz questions and explanations are currently in Spanish.

01 / START YOUR LEAGUE

Create your Battle

One person creates a private music league, chooses its pace and invites the others. Every participant gets a chance to be the round host, known as the “normero” in the Spanish game. The host sets the musical challenge and ranks the songs submitted by the other players. Each league has an ending; your group can create another one when it wants a rematch.

The league screen shows the host, the phase deadline, songs, standings and a shortcut to the group chat. You do not need to remember whose turn it is: the Battle shows the round’s status. Your home screen also gathers pending actions when you belong to several leagues.

02 / SET THE RULE

Which song fits?

The host publishes a musical rule and an example song to guide the group. The example does not compete or earn points. A rule might focus on a genre, a feeling, an era or a wonderfully specific idea. Different people can interpret the same challenge in unexpected ways: that is part of the fun.

When publishing the rule, the host decides whether players may change their submissions. That permission only applies while submissions are open. Once the phase closes because its deadline is reached or all proposals are in, songs can no longer be replaced.

03 / SUBMIT YOUR TRACK

Choose your contender

Every player except the host submits one song that matches the rule. You can explore and listen to the proposals during the round, but the players behind them remain hidden until results are published. Let the songs do the talking.

If changes are enabled, you can replace your choice before submissions close. Later, the league’s song history lets you filter by completed round, view cover art and follow listening links. The host’s example is also included in the history and export selection, clearly marked as a non-competing example.

04 / THE VERDICT

The host ranks and publishes

When submissions close, the host orders the songs according to their judgement and publishes the results. In a four-player league, the three competing songs receive 3, 2 and 1 point; the host earns 0 in their own round. Overall standings add up points from published rounds.

The full standings view also provides access to previous round results. After ranking is finished, the next host takes over. Reminders help players keep track of deadlines. Missing a song submission means no song points for that round and a penalty. The example song never scores, even though you can listen to it again or include it in an export.

05 / KEEP THE MUSIC

Export your selection

Song history is for browsing and listening; exporting is a separate tool. In the export module, choose songs from all rounds with published results, a particular round or individual tracks. You can build a personal selection instead of relying on one shared playlist for the whole group.

Download the list as CSV, TXT or JSON. This is a list of songs and their information, not an audio download or a playlist automatically created in Spotify. Listening links and exported lists serve different purposes.

CHOOSE YOUR PACE

Free pace, quick or weekly

All three modes use the same rule, song and verdict mechanics. What changes is the rhythm of the rounds. Choose the one that fits your group:

  • Free pace: the next turn depends on who has requested to host. Play at your own pace.
  • Quick: three days for song submissions and a fourth day for ranking.
  • Weekly: submit songs from Monday to Friday and rank them over the weekend.
BEYOND THE LEAGUE

Quiz Battles and achievements

Start a music quiz by choosing a topic. Then decide whether to play solo or challenge another person. In a Quiz Battle, the challenger answers first and sends the challenge; the other player can accept and answer before the stated deadline. Quiz Points are separate from league points, so a quiz duel never changes the music standings.

Your activity also unlocks achievement discs. Each achievement has bronze, silver, gold and platinum levels and shows your progress towards the next goal. They are not designed to be collected in a single afternoon: some reward consistency over many rounds.
